Ravi Hampole is the Vice President of Brand Experience at Jawbone. In this role, he oversees a team of writers and designers who plan, create and develop marketing initiatives, brand guidelines, content plans and product positioning to build brand awareness, drive conversion and create consistency across various brand touch points.
Before moving to San Francisco from New York, Ravi was the Creative Director of the Global Brand Design Group for Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Ravi and his team oversaw the visual and verbal language for Starwood's nine distinct lifestyle brands. Prior to joining Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Ravi was the Global Design Director in the Strategic Design Office of Johnson & Johnson. In this position, he was tasked with developing group talent and design processes, as well as overseeing the retail and in-home consumer experience for each product. Ravi began his career at Fitch, an award-winning international multidisciplinary design firm based in Boston, as a part of the communications team where he focused on developing product as well as brand and design languages for Hasbro International and retail merchandising opportunities for the Avedis Zildjian Co. Over the course of his 18-year career, Ravi has worked with a wide range of clients spanning the fashion, tech, hospitality, retail, music and electronics industries including Cole Haan, HMS Host, IAC Interactive Corp, IMO, Polaroid, Puma, Salomon Sports, Shure, Virgin and Web.com.
Ravi has received several awards and accolades, including the Communication Arts First Typography Annual Award and the Yale University School of Art Mark Whistler Memorial Prize. He has also been recognized with the SEGD, the Society of Environmental Graphic Designers’ Design Distinction Award and was one of only nine students in the U.S. to receive the AIGA Student Medallion for Design Excellence.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Ravi holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA and a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Yale University in New Haven, CT. He is currently based in San Francisco.
