The problem with new technology entering the mass market is that attracting customers past your early adopter cycle is a challenge. Jawbone's UP® system had that exact challenge in the big box outlets where engagement with POE displays is low and conversion is even lower. Awareness of the brand and it's stronghold in audio was a benefit, but having people understand what a fitness tracker is and the UP® system in 1-2 minutes was difficult, but achievable.
To solve the issue we developed new displays that housed an interactive screen that helped attract new customer and engage in a series of questions and answers that could be self run or guided by in-store attendants. The initial program proved to be a success.
